Default If it were my game ANET. (changes/tweaks/bugs)

Heres a short list I made of things that need changed or would be like this out of the box if it were my game.

1.) Heros Suck. I dont have them pimped in the best runes, but they have perfect weapons and almost any skill that has been used in previous campaigns. Yet they still are inferior to regular ol henchmen.

2.) Radius on the little green self compass in [U] map should be larger than it is due to the rugged map terrain/geometry you cant reach some places to clear for mapping percentage as is. Sometimes a tiny spot will be right out of reach and it pisses me off.

3.) Balance between mobs of enemies and the lvl 20 cap too warped. I hate being wiped out with a full hench team (and 1 other real player) by a mob of 8-10 enemies lvl 24-28. You cant pull, they chase forever if you try to run. Then you run into another mob trying to escape the first mob. Its rediculous. Just going out to get some mapping percentage will net you triple 60% dp.

4.) Why are (is) necros (henchmen/heros) always targeted first by mobs? My Master of Whispers is always the first to die multiple times in a row as soon as we enter a mob.

5.) Enemy mob balance needs more variety. I noticed up in the poisoned outcrops mobs have 3-4 of the same profession enemy in one group. Like 4 sorcerers, 2 clerics, 1 executioner, 1 other. This applies to other locations too.

6.) Every once in a while youll run across a chest (in all Campaigns) that is stuck in a rock, in a mountain, on a mountain, under a bridge, in the ground, just out of reach on a mound of snow. This is so annoying. Someone needs to go thru the whole map(s) and set these spawn points in a better location. If not then hire me, I'll do it for free just for the relief.

7.) Drop rates from chests as always are bad. Sometimes you get a good mod off a purple or blue but I always get really bad weapons worth 100-200g at the merchant. When keys are 400-750g the return kinda sucks. Most the time you can sell a mod but everyone else usually has 10 of the same mod cause they get the same useless weapons from chests that I get. The good ol update that made chests drop purple or golds was lame. I always open a chest first and I always get the purple. Chest runs or not... This leads to...

8.) Mob drop rates horrible! Yea I want it all and I want it all to be good and rewarded for my time spent playing countless hours. White weapons galore, a blue or two like 1 outta 100. Gold drop maybe 1:1000 enemies killed. Never seem to get purples from an enemy drop much while questing. Guess since they are all in the chests now... Maybe npcs (henchmen/heros) have a higher priority on the rare or better loot. If so, they dont deserve it. Best thing Ive gotten so far from Elona is a ruby I salvaged from a jeweled daggers that was highly salvageable. Even then the game lagged like it was deciding rather or not I deserved it. hah.

9.) The world map needs a closer zoom. I like to be able to see more detail in stuff and I hate guesswork.

10.) The "Aura" on bosses now seems a bit dull. Its hard to tell a dervish, paragon and warrior aura apart until you get too close for comfort. Same with necro and ranger. And most the time when I see a boss I can usually distinct his profession by its name. But when its name is Tom Thumb the Mean, or Repulsive Jane Doe Jr. you might as well engage it just to see what skills it uses. Then run like hell if its not one you want.

So thats my Top Ten list I guess. At least all I can think of or care to think of right now.

I only agree with 4, 5 and 10.

Your heroes suck? Give them better builds. If you're losing to enemies, get better. And I've only had good drops in Nightfall. Way too much, since I'm not a pve-er and it's a pain to sell them. So I'm still stuck with 2 greens and quite a lot of gold.

Multiple suggestions, which have probably all been discussed before, I don't think this thread will have a long life.

That is just you bitching for the most part, about things that have already been discussed or don't matter.

Like the person above stated, heroes are only as good as you make them. If you can't think of any good builds, go to wiki and grab a couple very simple ones that the ai can handle, or ask advice from others.

The mob problem may be caused by recent bugs. Give it some time, and hopefully it will get cleared up. The Master of Whispers thing may have to do with his build, or the monk heroes build not being able to keep him alive. As for them always attacking him, take advantage of it by giving him super defense so that you can just pound on them while they are distracted.(or something like that)

And then there are the beasties that drop their stuff where you can't pick it up. Like inside trees.

It all balances out in the end. Chests are 'properly balanced' now, so that its always a game of chance, and mobs will shaft you or reward you as they see fit. Within the past two weeks I have twice gone into an area with no intention of farming a green ( I had a full group of henchies) and had a good green drop for me. Other times I've gone in deliberately to farm and gotten nothing, no matter what I did.

I'd like this too. But I've heard it suggested that you could use the minimap in a larger size to double check. Gets rid of those pesky clouds.

I only commented on those I had something worthwhile to say about. Some of the game mechanics are dependent on luck, variables, and odds. Heroes are dependent on you.

But that's just my two cents.

read instructions before bitching

Quote:
Always use the search button before posting a new thread to see if your ideas been suggested before.
Always check the stickied Index of Ideas to see if your idea can be found in there.
If your idea is a slight change of another suggestion that's already been suggested, don't post a new thread on it, post it in the existing thread and continue the discussion over the general idea.
Make sure your thread titles list your idea. Don't post threads with vague titles like "Greatest Suggestion Yet" when only in your post do you discuss your suggestion. Make sure your thread title states your idea, to keep things organized and less confusing.
The practice of posting simple 'bumps' to threads is discouraged here, and threads seen being 'bumped' without good reason and nothing new to add, will be closed. If you are going to 'bump' a thread, do so after a reasonable amount of time, and let your 'bump' post contribute something to the thread rather than simply taking the thread up to the top of the forum.
Do not post "A Few Ideas" threads. If you have more than one idea ---first double check with the search button and the index thread to make sure they're fresh suggestions, and create a seperate thread for each one with a relevant title.
If you don't feel like creating a seperate thread for each suggestion you have, post all of them in the Index of Ideas thread stickied at the top of the forum.

/agree on 10 about necro/ranger auras. Unless the name makes it obvious, you really cant tell which they are. Id also like the map zoom, as using the enlarged minimap gets tedious(and dangerous) resizing it every time you need to see something. Enlarging the radar is even worse. Maybe it could be put in the minimap, as a "zoom button" or something.
